Congratulations there is nothing like buying a old car and driving it home more than a couple hours.

Very nice, and grats! A good sign the car is in decent working order, if it can make that journey without incident.

Hopefully that holds true. The only thing that happened was the "brake pad low" light flashed at me once, but I know thats bunk because the entire brake setup has 1500 miles on it. I think its the cluster having a fluke since I already know the gas gauge doesn't work.

This. I drove my E24 from WV to VT over the course of two days, and it taught me a ton about the car, and was just a very fun, exciting experience. I have some great memories of ducking around tractor trailers in NJ turnpike construction, and of trying to navigate Baltimore with a clogged clutch master cylinder (ie, no clutch). It's great fun, even when things do go wrong with the car.

Same here, me and my bro bought a 76 F100 and drove it from Athens GA to Boston in two days through a blizzard and Ice storm and I'll never forget it at all. To say the trip was amazing would be an understatement!
